An extraordinary ‘holiday lifestyle’ opportunity complete with Scarborough Beach access has fetched a Wombarra record of $4.1 million at auction.

The auction was well attended last Friday evening at the Belle Property Auction centre, and attracted three bidders from its four registered parties. Auctioneer Damien Cooley took a $2.5 million opening bid on the retreat that last sold for $2,225,000 in 2004. Bidding between 2 parties quickly reached $3 million before stalling for a few moments. A third party then entered the bidding and the numbers flew to $3.9 million within a matter of seconds, before finally landing at $4.1 million and selling under the hammer, for well above the set reserve price.
Belle Property Illawarra agent Andrew McLeod described the renovated home as a laid-back coastal oasis customised for five-star family comfort. Renovated to an exacting standard, it offers mesmerising, ultra-private views from the light-filled central lounge/dining area, dual entertainers’ decks and deluxe master bedroom, sitting on an ultra private 1043sqm parcel of land.
Wombarra’s previous residential sale record was 2-4 Reef Avenue, which sold for $4 million last year.
